The Dancing Gorilla
Can I have your attention for a few minutes? Great, that is exactly what I want to talk about today, getting people’s attention! I’d also like to talk about what should happen once you get people’s attention. In a meeting a few weeks ago I talked about my “dancing gorilla” experience when I lived in Oregon which I hoped would effectively articulate where most companies are from a communications standpoint and what it takes to get attention from others in our new fast passed, digital, and information overloaded society.
Would like to hear what you think. Agree / disagree or any comments? What tips and tricks do you have for getting results without being a dancing gorilla?

Excellent message Jeremy!
We live in a distracted era with tons of technology and gadgets but no time to sit and focus on the important things – I work in media so I’m aware of the lack of attention span that our society has (myself included – I’m struggling to find the creative energy to work on independent projects and much of that has to do with how distracted I get by the day to day barrage of media … and I’m lazy too so that’s part of the issue LOL)
I don’t know what the solution is other than to constantly remind ourselves that we need to set aside time for our families and friends to discuss the important issues of the day (or perhaps do a “media fast” for a certain amount of time just to see if we can actually communicate with each other w/o facebook, or texting, etc …) I’ve got a wife and kids so this is a very important issue to tackle.
Thank you for posting this! Again excellent work. I’m glad to see this and be reminded to take this on so we can be back in touch with our humanity.
Now what was I talking about—? Peace.
