Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox

Google Chrome

I’ve been trying out Google Chrome on Linux and Windows for the past few weeks now that extensions are available.  I like Chrome, it is very snappy and the number of available extensions are growing quickly.  I still plan on sticking with Firefox because it is open source and is something that just feels more familiar to me.  What are you using these days for your primary browser and why?

I tried Chrome out about 6 months ago because I was tired of how slow Firefox had become. I did like a few features (i.e. the most frequently visited sites upon opening a new tab) and it did seem faster. Overall, however, it was just TOO plain vanilla for me and I (being a creature of habit) found it hard to get used to not seeing all the icons and other doo-hickeys. Also, no extensions meant less functionality.
After reading about some specific security vulnerabilities with Chrome I decided to switch back to Firefox.
I’ve been mostly happy with Firefox, but, depending on the extensions available, I’d be willing to give Chrome another try.

Chrome. A friend turned me on to it last year when I was still using IE, and I thought it was great. Simple, clean, fast. I justed ditched Vista a couple of weeks ago for Ubuntu 9.10, which came loaded with Firefox, so I may give it a whirl eventually, but for now I like Chrome.
