If you tell themwhere you are, they can tell you which of your friends are nearby. They call it “checking-in”. You can check-in from a park, bar, museum, restaurant, whatever.  Check out http://playfoursquare.com/overview to learn about finding where your friends are located in a city near you.

Add Holidays To Your Google Calendar

April 6th, 2009 by Jeremy

I just learned you can add holidays to your Google Calendar by clicking the Add button in the “Other calendars” section.  After you click the Add button select “Add a public calendar”.

Click the “Add Calendar” button to any public calendar you wish to add to your calendar.  For instance as you can see in the screenshot below I added the Phases of the Moon, Google Doodles, and US Holidays public calendars.  If you didn’t already know this trick (like me), I hope you find this useful.

Download YouTube HD Videos

February 9th, 2009 by Jeremy

Unlockforus.blogspot.com has an awesome tip for downloading HD YouTube videos.  Start to play an HD YouTube video and then copy/paste the following code in the address bar and hit enter on your keyboard.  It should prompt your browser to download the HD video without any software or additional websites.  I just tried it so I could show a friend a video whenever I want.  Very slick…

Code/Paste This Code
javascript:window.location.href = ‘http://youtube.com/get_video?video_id=’ + swfArgs['video_id'] + “&fmt=22″ + “&l=” + swfArgs['l'] + “&sk=” + swfArgs['sk'] + ‘&t=’ + swfArgs['t'];

Let me know what you think – here are some YouTube HD videos – http://www.youtube.com/hd
