OK I spent 7 years in Oregon so I know rain and after moving to California it is amazing how many sunny days we have down here. Before today I couldn’t have told you the last time it rained. Around 6am a thunderstorm came through the Bay Area and man was the thunder loud! Sarah Lane tweeted about this video from @avramc http://post.ly/4ldN. They didn’t put it in a format which allowed embedding so I put it up on YouTube for everyone to benefit from. Turn down the volume of your speakers a bit, man is it loud. On the other hand, if you have great speakers or headphones turn it up for full impact.
Life in Perpetual Beta is a “documentary film about the ways in which technology has/is/will change the ways in which we think about ourselves as individuals and a society. It is exploring the cultural shift that technology creates as it enables people to live less planned and more passionate lives.” It isn’t finished yet so the above clip is a preview but it looks interesting. It is no secret I’m not a big planner, I like to live life day by day as much as possible. I loved the tag line of the documentary “is a planned life worth living?”.
Hi everyone, it looks like this post is getting a ton of interest which is great. I’m getting some good comments on the post and don’t forget to check out the rest of my posts while visiting (come back and visit me at jeremyperson.com). I was looking at all of my snake postings and found I have quite a few so if you enjoy this one check these out. @WilliamsJoseph tweeted this out and I thought it was pretty awesome. Can you imagine running into this thing?

The 16-year-old python measures 18 feet long and weighs 400 pounds.” Source: http://news.aol.com/article/400-pound-python-delilah-seized-from
I just discovered Brizzly.com the other night which essentially is a site that makes Twitter much more usable. It takes your Twitter account information and aggregates your feed into a cleaner UI/interface. The site is currently available by invite only. I signed up and it took a week or two to get an invitation code. It features keyboard shortcuts much like Google Reader which I love. So far I’m loving it.
I have been getting all of my contacts updated in my Gmail Address Book. Last week I synced my Facebook contacts with Gmail and this week I learned LinkedIn has an address book exporter.
If you want to imprt your LinkedIn contacts with Gmail, here are the steps:
Open the CSV file in your favorite spreadsheet editor (Excel, OpenOffice etc)
Delete any rows you don’t care about, or data that doesn’t exist in your Gmail address book
Put a header row at the top of your spreadsheet to tell Gmail what each column of data represents. For instance if “John” is in the column name that column “First Name”.
Save your spreadsheet somewhere handy like your desktop
Open your gmail contacts and click the import link (top right-hand corner of the screen)
The rest is pretty intuitive so I’ll leave that up to you. If you have any problems let me know.
